Uddhava Gita

By ARUN TIWARI

the story

Beginning with “Gita Rahasya” in 2017, and subsequently exloring Ramcharitmanas, Kabir and Anugita, I have decided to focus on presenting wisdom embedded in our scriptures to modern day people by writing in contemporary language and style. The Uddhava Gita is a dialogue between Shri Krishna and his devoted friend Uddhava athat marks the end of Dwapara Yuga and the beginning of Kali Yuga. This sacred text, nestled within Srimad Bahagavatam, develvs into the depest mysteries of existence and expands upon the teachings of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita for a broader audience.

Shri Krishna imparts the most confidential spiritual knowledge about the unique purpose of human life to Uddhava, which is to experience the eternal soul by living in the ephemeral mortal world by an everchanging mind and aging body. He declares the importance of saintly company (Satsang), and attitude of equanimity (Sambhav), and a mindset of devotion (Bhakti) as a toolkit to survive in Kali Yuga. The Uddava Gita explores theistic sprititaulity, unvelling the mysteries of divcine immanence and transcendence and the significance of rituals and traditions.

This poetic rendition of the Uddhava Gita written in Sanskrit in English makes that ancient wisdom accessible to 21st-century readers. It offers a fresh perspective on the Lord’s crucial message to humanity lest it drowns int dystopia. According to Uddhava Gita, the ultimate objective of spiritual practice is a profound and loving relationship with the divine via devotion and surrender rather than merelt achieving freedom or transcendence. As the book on Kabir offers Simple Sprituality, this books is all about Bhakti is the Best.
